General Contractor and Consultant 2003-Present 

Worked on a wide array of construction projects. The work was comprised primarily of extensive  addition and remodeling in Bedford, Pawling and Scarsdale, Chappaqua, among others.  Restoration of UJA Camp in Putnam Valley; creation of organic farm camp.

Managed the construction of a 7500 sq. ft. Georgian Style home near the Darien Country Club. 
Notable features include:

1446 Ponus Ridge Road, New Cannan, CT 2001 to 2002 

Managed the construction for the conversion of a 2000 sq. ft. home in a bucolic setting into a 4200 sq. ft. charming cottage style home. All aspects of the home were enhanced, including entirely new mechanical systems.

25 Close Road, Greenwich, CT 1999 to 2001  Managed the construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. home for a highly involved client and architecture team.

AP Farm, Cross River, NY 1994-1995 
Project Manager for $3.5 million custom home project. Responsibilities include: 

  • Maintained a direct relationship with the Owner.  

  • Coordinated activities of on-site work crews and subcontractors.

  • Planned material requirements, sequencing and scheduling of operations. 

  • Sourced, evaluated, negotiated with and selected subcontractors.

  • Interfaced with Architect, Engineers, Utilities and Town officials to expedite project.

David Construction Company, Pawling, NY 1985-1994

Owner and manager of fourteen person firm with annual revenues of $1 million, specializing in custom home building and renovation. Major accomplishments include:  

  • Completed over twenty projects on time and within budget.  

  • Developed a successful carpentry subcontracting business.

  • Completed a project featured in regional magazine.  

Vice President of Operations

 Sherlock Homes Inc., Lewisboro, NY 1983-1985

Coordinated all engineering services for new 6-home residential subdivision. Responsibilities included supervising completion of site preparation, roads, utilities and drainage systems and  coordinating permit process with local government agencies.

The CF Group, Costa Mesa, CA 1981-1983 

General Contractor and Painting Contractor in commercial and residential construction. 

  • Provided contract management services to Care Enterprises, Inc. acting as liaison between  administrative headquarters and numerous active retirement home facilities in southern California.

  • Remodeled the main lobby and administrative offices at Care's San Diego facility, with minimal  disruptions during on-going operations.

  • Solicited contracts and managed contracting crew painting the exterior of four industrial  structures to exacting specifications.  

Project Manager  

dcd Group, Santa Monica, CA 1980-1981 

  • Managed field operations at two sites for this design and construction firm. 

  • Developed Bid Packages (Requests for Proposals) including custom specifications. 

  • Evaluated and selected contractors.  

  • Supervised completion of exclusive twelve-unit condominium project, including underground  parking structure, within a nine month time period.  

  • Directed nineteen-home planned unit development from framing stage through final finish  details and completion.  

Estimator and Project Manager  

  • Centex Homes Corporation, Palatine, IL  1979  

  • Requested, evaluated, negotiated and awarded bids based upon comparison of contractors'  proposals. 

  • Prepared FHA/VA financing applications for entire subdivisions.  

  • Served as OSHA Director for the mid-west region of Centex Homes Corporation. 

  • Designed detailed construction cost estimating program.

Trustee  

Pawling Central School District Board of Education 1990 to 1993 

One of nine elected Board members charged with establishing policy and direction of the school  district, which has an annual budget of $9.2 million.  

  • Chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee; responsible for $6.2 million renovation  project.

  • Participated in evaluation and final selection of District Superintendent.
